Fan Expo Vancouver 2019

What!? Already? Wasn’t there just a Fan Expo Vancouver last fall?

That’s right! But it’s back so soon with its new spring schedule!

March 1-3. (Friday 4-9; Saturday 10-7; Sunday 10-5). More info here: https://www.fanexpovancouver.com/en/home.html

Where can you find me and all of Peter Chiykowski’s sweet Rock, Paper, Cynic loot?

Right here!

Come on by for t-shirts, books, postcards, more books, and dice towers. My booth buddy Terry and I will be intermittently playing a D&D side-quest adventure for his Half-Orc Mii Grawp, so you can join us and roll some dice (or make questionable decisions) for his character.

Me Grawp! Err… Me, Mii Grawp.

The guests are pretty killer for this Fan Expo as well, and–hearkening back to my year of haiku–I wrote some poems for them!

FanExpo Vancouver 2016

It’s been a long wait (with its new fall schedule), but FanExpo is here in Vancouver from November 11-13!

I will be co-piloting the HMS Bad Idea airship (aka: booth A8 in Artist’s Alley) with Peter Chiykowski of Rock, Paper, Cynic, Is It Canon?, and Dad Joke Han Solo fame.

Like last year, I will be writing haiku for the special guests in attendance like Jewel Staite ♥, Kevin Smith, Christopher Lloyd, and Carrie Fisher!

I met Carrie Fisher last year, jumping her autograph queue because my dad had shown her the Limited Edition Princess Leia vs. Captain Kirk haiku print that I had made with Aaron Plants (of Big Simple Comics and Is It Canon?), AND she wanted a signed copy. I was giddy for days after that.

I won’t be doing any limited edition so spectacularly this year, but I will have lots of great poster and post card prints, as well as freshly-made copies my Existential Lop comic (a pet rabbit’s guide to philosophy) that sold out at Word Vancouver.

Peter will have his amazing selection of books, posters, and album of nerd-rock music: Borken Telephone.

Hope to see you there!

VanCAF 2016 and Star Wars Stuff

The Vancouver Comic Arts Festival is this weekend at the Yaletown Roundhouse! I will be there at a booth with Rock, Paper, Cynic. He just released a full album of amazing (i.e. geeky) songs that you’ll love, and we’ll have his books, t-shirts, posters, and other merch available.

I’ll have a few things out . . . like a new set of Star Wars haiku postcards!!! I’m so excited about these (thus the three exclamation points). They’re a great way to tell your friends how well-travelled you are through hyperspace.

I’ve also been doing a lot of photography of my Star Wars action figures lately. Force Awakens really got me re-excited about Star Wars. That and my friend Macroworlder, whose own toy-photography inspired me. I’ll be posting the beginning of a comic I’ve been writing about the pirates Sidon Ithano and Quiggold (seen offering Finn a ride in the Force Awakens). TOMORROW.

Damn he looks so cool

Pretty exciting stuff! Please come see us at the festival or drop us a line on most social media. He’s @rockpapercynic; I’m @writelightning.

May the Force be with you!
